Products
Aerospace / Military
While Aurora’s initial product offerings in 1971 were geared toward the commercial/industrial marketplace, by the middle of the 1980’s Aurora Bearing’s total quality reputation was recognized by the aircraft airframe industry, and Aurora Bearing Company was solicited by the most prestigious airframe manufacturers to build products for them to their specifications. This prompted the decision to seriously enter the aircraft market, and by 1988 Aurora Bearing Company was soliciting aircraft business on a controlled basis only, in order to insure consistent customer satisfaction. These efforts resulted in a smooth and successful entry into the aircraft marketplace.
Today, Aurora Bearing Company now produces standard and special spherical bearings, rod ends and bushings, for aircraft manufacturers, their subcontractors, and approved aerospace distributors.
Aerospace Series
Bearings and rod ends not requiring military approval, but manufactured under the same quality and SPC systems as the military approved bearings. Many of the bearings and rod ends have been approved to individual customer specifications and or standards for use in the general aviation, experimental, ultra light aircraft industries, and in non-critical applications by commercial aircraft manufacturers. Dimensions and configurations follow established industry conventions. Total traceabiliy, except where noted, is maintained through manufacturing up to and including shipping.

Commercial / Industrial
From our original offering of one series of rod ends, the Aurora line now encompasses over 30 series of rod ends and spherical bearings, the widest selection in the industry. From economy commercial bearings, to premium grade, we’ve got it all.
Rod End Bearings
The Aurora Bearing product line features over twenty-five different standard series of rod ends in inch, or imperial, and metric dimensions. From the economy commercial CM series through the performance racing PRM series, Aurora has a standard catalog series bearing for every rod end need.
Products range in the inch dimension series from 1/8 to 2 inch bore size, with threads from 6-32 through 2”-12. Metric series Dimensions follow DIN 648 schedule K. All series with the exception of the CM/CW-M are available in fine thread styles as well. Products range in bore and thread size from 3mm through 30mm.
All feature one-piece, full swage steel raceway construction, with the exception of the SPM/SPW series, which feature a proprietary low friction high wear resistance molded liner. Aurora PTFE liners are available in most series.
Spherical Bearings
The sixteen series of Aurora spherical bearings all incorporate the single-piece race type construction, providing excellent ball-to-race conformity and structural integrity, along with the advantages of metal-to-metal contact between bearing components. Standard race materials are low carbon, heat treated alloy or stainless steel. Balls are precision ground alloy or stainless steel. Metal on metal race units can be re-lubricated through an annular groove in the outer race with two interconnecting holes positioned at 180 degrees, while a self lubricating PTFE to metal interface may also be optionally specified in many series. Inch or imperial sizes range from 3/16 inch through 6 inch bore, metrics from 3 through 160 mm.
